COMMUNITY RURAL DEVELOPMENT SOCIETY (CRDS)

 

Background of the Organization:

During 1999 disillusioned with social and political structure of society, distressed with the poor living conditions of fellow brethrens, likeminded persons including its chief functionary joined informally to address the social issues affecting the rural poor. Eventually they formed a society and registered it under the societies Act of Tamilnadu in1999.

Operational Structure:

Organization, in general, is governed by its general body. Its activities are executed by the executive committee through Director who is in-charge of all programs. Program staffs and administrative staffs work under the guidance of Director.

Vision and Mission of the NGO:

To bring Developments in the lives of the Vulnerable sections of society, Women, Farmers, Children, Differently abled person, Victims of Natural Calamities for Sustainable Livelihood and access to resources.

Objectives:

• Enhance Economic status of Women.
• Increase Enrolment and Retention of children at primary schools
• Minimize IMR /MMR and Female Infanticide
• Address HIV/AIDS & Physically Challenged
• Promotion of Micro Enterprises.
• Ensure Food security
• Social Issues

Strategy:

CRDS Strategized Women SHGs as tool to empower and animate for collective action. And networking of NGOs and CBOs for addressing social issues.
